kimana517: (me : coy)
Recently, I've learned that:

- If you think no one pays attention to you, try walking around outside in a wedding dress that's seen better days, patterned fishnet-esque tights, and pink open-toed heels. You will turn a lot of heads.
- It is extremely difficult to cover freckles with makeup.
- I am very pale. Paler than I ever knew. Paler than the lightest shade of Estee Lauder Maximum Coverage and the lightest shade of Revlon Colorstay.
- Modeling is FUN. Especially crazy, who-wears-this-crap, high fashion modeling. (See the first bullet point.)
- It is worrisome to loan one's baby camera to a friend, even a friend that one knows will take excellent care of it.
- One sees very interesting things while walking a 4-mile circuit near where one lives. Last night's walk found a pair of boxers, part of a toy gun, and some very confused signs. Also, I like that people walking the other way say hi to us even though we have never seen them before.
- There are a lot of countries that don't let people adopt unless they're at least 30 years old. Bah to them. We don't want to wait another 2 years before even beginning the process!
- CVS loves me. They sent me a $10 off $50 and a $5 off $30, thereby guaranteeing that I will have an amazing Black Friday there!
- I can deal with cold weather if I'm doing something I love.
- I'm edgy-looking. *snort*
- I can go at least one day without drinking pop/soda, but it's sad.
- My husband is amazing. This I already knew, but I keep noticing it more and more.
kimana517: (isaac&me : marriage is fun)
+ Isaac and I have been emailing each other in haiku all morning. No particular reason.

+ Speaking of Isaac (or should I say Isaaic?), he is an extremely intelligent person. I've always known this, but I'm reminded of it a lot when he is explaining things to people. He will be such a good Bible teacher.

+ Bill O'Reilly was on The View today. Oh, that was entertaining. It is so obvious that Joy and Barbara can't stand the sight of him. I don't think Joy has ever fidgeted with her hair that much during one segment before. Yesterday Elizabeth wore an awesome McCain shirt, which got her booed by the audience. (Dude, someday I will be a part of that audience and I will give that girl a standing ovation and boo Joy.) Y'all know McCain was like my 5th favorite of the Republican candidates, but that shirt rocks. If the election wasn't 2 weeks away, I'd buy it.

+ I finished watching The Lake House again this morning. I was right - I cried a lot. Such a great movie though. And at least I didn't cry as much as I did when we went to see it in the theater. Not like that's an attainable goal.

+ It's been about a year since Sarah and Andrew moved to Washington. It seems absolutely insane that it's been that long (where has this year gone?), and even more insane that I've been Sarah-less that long. =o/

+ We need to go buy our pumpkins tonight for the carving party tomorrow. I'm so excited!

+ I had more to say, but Mom just called about going to lunch with her and Grams, so I need to get ready. Adios!
kimana517: (music : rockin' out by the ocean)
+ I have a confession: today I listened to country music. A whole CD's worth, save for the few I skipped because they featured twangy guitar. I have never done that before. Seeing Phil Stacey at the McCain rally inspired me to listen to some of his stuff, and you can listen to his entire debut CD on his website. So, I did. And it's quite good. Like a country-tinged Chris Rice. I'm especially digging "'Round Here". Will I buy it? I sort of want to, but I'm not sure if I can, in good conscience, spend money on country music. Even Christian pop/country. But we'll see. Maybe if I listen to it a bit more, it'll wear down my prejudices.

+ Hard cider is the bomb. We finally found some at a local grocery store, and it's now one of my favorite drinks, alcoholic or otherwise. *takes another sip*

+ I downloaded some Bon Jovi songs today. Until now, my Bon Jovi collection was seriously lacking. (Yes, I said that with a completely straight face.) Although, I still maintain that Stellar Kart's version of "Livin' on a Prayer" is better than the original. But now I have both.

+ I did my hair up with with hair sticks today. I found out that the reason my hair stick updos never really lasted is that I always forgot to do an important step. Now that I know to do it, my hair stick updo is solid. Woo-hoo!

+ I'm singing with the worship team this week! It's been at least a few months since I did it last. We're singing "Your Love is Extravagant", by Casting Crowns. We went through it a few times, and I tried to adapt to the not-exactly-like-CC way the music leader was singing it, which was hard, since I'm used to CC's version. When we finished he said, "Vocals sound really good on that. In fact, Bethany, I was actually trying to follow you because I think you know the song better than I do." So I was trying to follow him and he was trying to follow me. Yay communication.

+ Well. I just broke the sink in our main bathroom. Go me. Hopefully we can fix it tomorrow, or some other time that's not 10:40pm with the next day being a work day. I don't know if we'll be able to fix it or not though, since it's falling off the wall. Heh. Perhaps we will view this as an opportunity to replace it with something a lot more attractive.

Survey!

kimana517: (me : goofy)
I've been wanting to do a survey, but the "here's where I am in my life" one totally bored me to death. I didn't do it, and I didn't read any of yours. Is that horrible? I say no.

How old will you be in 3 birthdays? 28. Wow. Maybe we should rephrase the question to, "How old were you 3 birthdays ago?"
Will you be [still be] married by then? Unless one/both of us is killed. Which would really, really suck. Unless we were both killed. But then I suppose it would suck for our family and friends.
What were you doing at midnight last night? Sleeping. Good me.
If you could be anywhere, where would it be? Mmmm... Australia. I really, really miss Australia.
Have you ever dated anyone more than once? I don't really know what this means. Yes, I have been on more than one date with Isaac.
Is there someone you want to fight? Hehehe. Um, sure. How about the Democrats in Congress?
Does anyone like you? Shoot, everyone likes me.
What’s your middle name? Danger. Er, I mean Lynn.

Well, that was much too short. I oughta write my own survey and post it someday. I've done that a few times before, but not for a while.

I thought this was a good day for an iced coffee, so I went to McDonald's, 'cause theirs is good and cheap. Dude, they totally over did the vanilla syrup. You can't even taste the coffee! Too sweet! Augghhh!

I built a puppet stage in my living room last night. Bet you've never heard anyone say that before.

I think it's better if you actually go to the site. The one here just stands there and looks silly. (Hey! Stop thinking, "It's so lifelike!" ;oD ) The one on the site is much cooler. Just click on the one below to see. And oh, if only my hair really looked that good... you know, in human form...
