The Summer of Five Languages
Jul. 15th, 2009 01:03 pmThat's what my friend Codie called my summer. I hadn't actually put that together until she said it. Yes - this is my summer of five languages in five other countries. I doubt I will ever be able to experience that again, but it's been amazing.
So, yes - I'm back. I had another fantastic trip to El Salvador. This was my third time there and each time has been different and incredible. For the first time ever one of the orphans did the immediate latching-on to me. In the past it has been a slower thing, where one or two will hover around me for a while and then latch on, but this time I stepped off the truck and was immediately hugged tightly by a 10-year-old girl who then proceeded to lead me around the playground for the next hour and a half. More about her later. More about it all later. I wrote Isaac notes that also acted as a journal for me, so I am planning to type them and put them on here.
Thank you for your prayers. It was a great trip where we saw evidence of miracles God has done in the past and even saw a few happen while we were there. It's also so cool to see the results of our previous ministry there. It's just all around great. I was not planning to go again because of our adoption, but I think I will try to go either in December or July and raise the money instead. We'll see.
P.S. Isaac got me flowers. He had one of the roses waiting for me on the dashboard of the car. =o)
