+ Yep - we made it! We got home around 9:15 or so Wednesday night. Even though it was actually 4:15am Greece time, we managed to stay awake on the drive from the airport and tell Mom a little about our trip. It was SO GOOD to sleep in our own super-comfy bed that night! We had no trouble falling asleep (although I did stay up to watch an episode of Law & Order that I hadn't seen, which meant I had been up for over 24 hours by the time I fell asleep!), but we've been unable to sleep in since we got back, giving us less than 8 hours both nights so far. Considering we were up for so long the day we came home... yeah. Coffee has been our friend since we've been home.

+ So... life at home is great, especially since we're still on vacation. Yesterday we made a big breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and grilled bagels with cream cheese. That was the first "real" breakfast we'd had in a month, and it was SO good. Lunch was at Chick-Fil-A - YUM - and then we went to church because the girl who's filling in for me had some questions. We also had to say hi to Ken, of course, and tell him all about our trip.

Then we went to see Up, which, until I saw that several of you absolutely adored it, I didn't have much desire to see. Well, we loved it too! What a great story. We had intended to go to Steak 'n' Shake after, but ended up sitting in front of some friends from church at the movie, and they invited us to join them for dinner at Olive Garden. They asked us all about our trip and then even bought our dinner! Rock on! Though honestly the coolest part was seeing all the pics on the walls there, of Tuscany, of the Roman Pantheon, etc., and saying to each other, "WE'VE BEEN THERE!" =oD Italy has been at the top of my list of places I want to go for a VERY long time, and now I'VE BEEN THERE. And I'd love to go back someday.

After dinner we went back to the theater to watch Star Trek. I think that was the only time in my life I've been to see two movies in the theater in one day, but since it wasn't the weekend movies were half price, so we didn't feel too guilty about it. We both quite liked Star Trek, but only if we didn't actually think of it as Star Trek, since they basically annihilated everything that is already in the ST canon. As a stand-alone movie, it was good. The guy who played McCoy was fantastic. The guy who played Kirk was hard to take seriously because he reminded me so much of DiNozzo on NCIS. Zachary Quinto looked a lot like Spock, but I couldn't take him seriously because apparently he will always be Sylar to me.

+ Oh, one other thing that happened yesterday is that my car wouldn't start. Yeah. I'm honestly not surprised since it wasn't started for over 3 weeks and had been having some minor issues before we left, but it was still frustrating. Isaac replaced the spark plugs and the distributor cap and then it started working. Whew! You know, he really is an amazing man, that husband of mine.

+ I know there was more to tell you, but I've forgotten it all. Oh well. Next time. =o)

+ I just got back from the mechanic shop. Isaac said his car's brakes were acting up, so he took my car to work and I took his in this afternoon. I could tell there was something wrong just in the 1½-mile drive there. Turns out it's his master brake cylinder, and he also has a bad CV axle. Those are both quite dangerous, especially considering that 95% of the time his car is driven, it's at highway speeds and/or in rush hour. So we have to cough up $450 for that. Oy. Isaac was still at work when the employee there told me it would take at least 2 hours to fix the car, so I decided to walk home. The employee was appalled! LOL! She offered to give me a ride, and I kept insisting I would be fine, that it was only a mile or two, etc. Finally she caved but she had this crazy worried look on her face. Made me laugh. It was nice though, that she was so worried about me.

+ I also walked a mile and a half this morning. I decided to meet Grams at Panera for lunch, and found out that's not as far as I thought. It was a really great day for a walk. So I walked 3 miles on my own today, and 3.6 with Isaac yesterday. Go me!

+ I was amused that when walking back from the mechanic, I got 4 honks, one whistle, and one "Heyyyy". Ha! Apparently jeans, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes is the new sexy. I didn't even get one honk walking to Panera.

+ The photo shoot on Saturday was SO MUCH FUN. I was kind of nervous because I didn't know what to expect, but it was a blast. Isaac went with me just in case. When we were trying to find the old library, we pulled into a parking lot (after going the wrong way down a one way street. Oops!) only to realize that it was a) kitty corner from the library, and b) the law office of one of the elders at church! When I got into the wedding dress getup later on, I was just praying that he wouldn't be driving by! Hehe.

First we did some shots of us in dresses outside. Mine was gauzy and the setting sort of urban, so I really can't wait to see those. It was cold, especially since I was in a pretty short, spaghetti-strap dress! But in the sun it wasn't too bad. Then we went inside to do some dresses shots. Then we changed into our next outfits - which, for me, was the wedding dress. Since the dress was already tattered at the bottom, I asked Tara if she wanted me to punk it up and wear my fishnets and hot pink open-toes. She thought that was a great idea, so I did that. Then I put on my black choker and a bunch of pearls that Celia had brought. It was awesome. We shot outside in an alley, then walking down the sidewalk, then against a (absolutely FREEZING) black metal gate thing. I was SO COLD. The dress was strapless. But actually while we were shooting I didn't notice the cold so much. I was having too much fun! (That or I was numb. Heh.) We came back in and I was going to wear a little black dress I brought, but I was so cold I just wanted warmth, so I put on a sweater and jeans. We then went to the basement, which was warmer, creepy and cool. We did some cool shadowy pics in a chair and then some crazy ones holding onto pipes in a glass room. LOL. What a crazy day, but a total blast. Even Isaac had fun, but I think that may be mostly because he could tell I was having a blast. I know most photo shoots aren't like this one was, but oh man, was it fun. I can't wait to get the pictures!

+ Sunday we had a church potluck Thanksgiving dinner. It was amazing! And my parents actually stayed for it too. They've been so crazy antisocial these past few years. It was fun.

+ Angela's Premier Designs party for my Christmas present was such a huge success that I got everything on my wish list, two things for Grams, and one for Angela! Holy cow! Hers did better than mine did in January. Dude. I told Ange she's never going to top this, but she reminded me that last year I gave her $200 (with an online deal I found), so now we're even. Hehe.

+ The thrift store by my house is doing another storewide 50% off on Black Friday. I can't believe they're doing another one already! They must have a ton of stuff. Well, I know where I'll be when everyone else is waiting in line for hours at Kohl's. Hehe. I actually kind of wish I had people to really do Black Friday with. I think it could be fun. Not that I need any of the stuff on sale, but if I did, it would be fun.

+ And also? HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I hope you have an amazing day thanking God for all He's given you, eat far too much turkey, and pray for the Lions to have one of the biggest upsets in NFL history. Heh.

+ I can no longer say that I've never locked my keys in my car. When I got to work today, I had lots of stuff in my hands to bring into the church. Apparently my keys somehow slipped out of my fingers and fell onto my seat without me realizing it until I went to put them into my purse once I got inside... and they weren't there. Hehe. I'm more amused by it than anything, since we live only 1.5 miles from here and Isaac will just come by on his way home from work. Plus, since it happened when I got here, I have lots to do before I need to leave. I've been driving for 10 years now ('cause I got my permit at age 15) and never had locked my keys in the car till today. I don't know - does it even really count if you're not in a place where you have to be stressed about it or have someone go out of their way to help you? I remember once, when I was about 4 years old, my mom locked her keys in the car on a hot day. This wouldn't have been a bad thing - we didn't live too far away, so Dad, Aaron, Nathan and I just hopped in the car to go help - if little baby Seth wasn't still in there! Oh, she was totally freaked out. But he was fine. That is the worst keys-locked-in-car story I've ever heard, but if you have a better one, do share!

+ I pre-ordered Jimmy Needham's new CD last night. I'm so glad his first one did well enough for him to make a second!

+ Yesterday I told someone a fun memory of my brothers and me from when we were kids, and I thought y'all might like to hear it too. (If not, feel free to skip.) My brothers and I used to play pretend that we were the A-Team (from the '80s TV show). My older brother, Aaron, was Hannibal, because he is the bossiest person ever, and he wanted to be in charge. I was Face, because he was cute and I never went through the "boys have cooties" stage. My younger brother Nathan was Murdock, because he was nuts. Not really (well, maybe a little), but bossy Hannibal and I outvoted him. My youngest brother Seth was quite a bit younger than we were, but weirdly always had an obsession with Mr. T. I distinctly remember him naming a balloon (yeah, I don't know. We were weird kids.) "B.A.". So he was B.A., despite being the weakest and smallest of all of us. Good times.

+ My evil ant bite is finally beginning to diminish. Weirdly, the part that was the large and lightest pink is now a bit smaller and turning yellowish, like a bruise. That thing was obviously not a normal fire ant. I keep waiting to develop spider - er, ant - senses, or be able to lift 50 times my body weight.

+ Before we left for El Salvador, I got a great deal on a nice all-in-one b&w laser printer thanks to SlickDeals. I finally got around to hooking it up last night, and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long. It is NICE. It prints SO fast, and it's networked, so I can print from my laptop in the living room. It's awesome.

+ I had lunch at Chuck E. Cheese's today with Dad, Ange and the kids. That was fun. I stayed there with the kids for about an hour while Ange had a haircut appointment. And, of course, I got cotton candy with my tickets. =o)

+ Tomorrow I'm heading down south to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] hominygrits and her family at the beach. I'm definitely excited. It's supposed to rain though, so we'll see what happens.

+ Oh, where is my husband? Oh, where is my husband? Oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where, oh wherrrrrrrrre - is my husband?
