+ It's amazing how many more comments come to my inbox when I'm actually leaving comments on my friends page. Funny how that works. It's been great catching up on you guys. I've missed you!

+ I've been exhausted since we got back. I suppose that's to be expected since I didn't get enough sleep while we were gone, but I slept 11 hours last night and the night before and I'm still dragging. Of course, today's headache probably isn't helping. Oh well. I'm pretty much used to being tired all the time.

+ Yesterday it stormed most of the day. I got out of the shower to discover Mandy laying next to it. So adorable. It's actually stormed for at least an hour or two every day we've been home. I'm pretty sure it didn't rain at all while we were gone.

+ Speaking of Mandy, thanks so much for praying for her while we were gone. She seems to have survived quite well and, in fact, even ate some of her food while we were gone. I was ridiculously worried about her, but she was fine.

+ The other day when I was at Sam's Club, I saw a middle-aged mom, her late teens/early 20s son and daughter, and her 11-year-old daughter. Every single one of them - even the mom - had Heelys on and were rolling through Sam's Club. Coolest. Family. Ever.

+ I feel really cute today. I wore a top I haven't worn for a long time, and it looks nice.

+ I miss my family. We shared a hotel suite with Mom, Dad, Grams, and Seth for a few days, and saw AAAC and Nathan, Nicole & James for much of two days up there too, but since we've been home I've only seen Mom, and only once (tonight). I miss spending all that time with them.

+ Today, Ken asked if I would consider taking over the church treasurer position. The current treasurer got a job in New Orleans and has to move very soon. I'm considering it. I don't think I'd particularly enjoy it, but I know I could do it (especially with Isaac to help me if I need his mad accounting skillz), and it would be extra money. So, I'm thinking and praying about it.

+ Any E.L.F. Cosmetics fans out there? If so, go here to find out how to get products for 50% off AND get free shipping. Can't beat 50-cent lip glosses and nail polish!

+ As usual, there was definitely more I wanted to say, but I've forgotten. Such is life.

While I think Heelys are a nifty invention, it irritates the crap out of me when people are rolling around in stores with them. I've been knocked into by a kid wearing them and have seen many more people get cut off by kids speeding by them. Stores are NOT the place to be using them.

I'm such a kill joy.

I've only seen someone get run into once, and that was by two 8-year-old kids. I think that this family was using them nicely - I only saw them rolling when there was no one near them. Plus, given that all but one of them was older, I think they are in control of their bodies' movements much better than a lot of kids in them are. =o) And dude, I totally want a pair. I've wanted them for ages.

LOL! Hardly. I think this is the only time you could ever be even remotely described that way.

Funny how it takes commenting to get comments, ain't it?

Catching up on sleep is more of a challenge than most people realize. It can take three or four nights before I'm back to full power after a trip or staying up way late. I must be getting old. I used to be able to pull 2:30 am's several days in a row without feeling as if a truck had run over me. Alas, no more.

I must have missed your post about Mandy. I'm relieved she's all right. She's such a sweet little dog. Even if she did snub Esther's toy. ;)

Yup. Although, there are a lot of people who don't comment on my LJ and I comment on theirs. Maybe I should rethink my commenting strategy? ;o)

Oh, I know. As a kid I could stay up late and not really have to recover, but even as a teenager I needed much more sleep than most people, and that's never gone away. =oÞ

Hehe. Yes, Mandy is awesome despite her snobbery. LOL.

Who is that in your icon? It's David Tennant and some girl... right? Is it "his" daughter?

I get that too. And then there are the lurkers who never post themselves, and rarely comment. I never know what to do with them.

Icon: yup. That was her daughter. Fabulously fun episode. =D

Yeah, I have a lot of those. But usually those are people I know IRL or at least have met, so I don't get rid of them. *sigh* Why can't everyone just post once or twice (or more) a week and comment regularly? Real lives, shmeal lives.

I really liked that episode too. I hope they bring her back on another!

I don't think how busy they are has much to do with it. We make time for whatever is important to us, so obviously they're choosing not to post. Most of mine make excuses that they do read my posts. I'm tempted one of these days to put them on a filter so they cannot see anything but junk posts, and see if they object. "Why, when you don't comment, I assume you're not reading!" I would oh-so-innocently respond. Mwahahaha. Me. Evil.

Jenny will be back, I'm sure. She's adorable.

Not yet. I took a while to send in my certs. I've heard though that they are sending $250 and then $50 separately.

From: [identity profile] life-in-7.livejournal.com
Yes, if they send you 250 call them and tell them and they will tell you they are sending the other $50. So far I got the $250.

I know! The 40-something mom on the Heelys was the BEST. My mom-in-law would so do that, I think.

I would love to try out ELF, but they never have anything I want to buy in stock!

This time they are probably sold out of lots of things because it was posted on SlickDeals! Hehe. That said, I got several lip glosses, a nail polish, some mascara, some mineral glow powder stuff, an eyeshadow quad, and an eyelash curler (something I have never attempted before). All that for $10.50 shipped. Woo-hoo! I've never actually tried their stuff before, but I couldn't resist at this price.

I'm sorry! It's true! I have more of a tendency to comment on other peoples' journals when they comment on mine! I hadn't noticed that I do that.
Pardon me while I alleviate my guilt by making a comment :D

That's great that Mandy is doing well. I bet she was overjoyed to see you back! Comet doesn't seem to care about thunder, but our Samoyeds were terrified of it! They would try to squeeze into the smallest space possible (behind the woodstove was a favorite) and shiver pathetically. Mandy's reaction was much sweeter.

Don't feel guilty. I actually was referring to the fact that when I comment on other people's journals, they respond to my comment, and thus I get those responses in my inbox. I wasn't talking about commenting on my own LJ, though of course I'll take all of those (even guilt-induced) that I can get! =o)

She was! I think when the door opened she was expecting the girls who took care of her for us while we were gone, because she looked surprised and THRILLED to see us. She likes to go into tiny spaces all the time, but especially when it's storming. But during storms, she has to be near me/us even if there's no "caves" nearby.

I'm so glad Mandy did okay!! :)

Oh, I know it! But it's still been raining there, hasn't it? And it's been raining here too. It's okay, 'cause we needed it, but I'm tired of it. I could never live in Washington state where it rains every day!

Me too.

Exhaustion is the pits! I know, because I'm there often, ha. ;-) I hope you get caught up on your sleep soon!

We've been getting lots of storms up here too!

Yay for feeling cute! :D

Oh, keep us updated on the treasurer position!

I hope I do too. Though now I have a cold! *headdesk*

Oh, I bet. The Midwest has been HAMMERED all over.

Definite yay!

I will. Pray for me as I make the decision, 'kay?

Woah. That E.l.f. makeup is cheap. Is it good?

From: [identity profile] kimana83.livejournal.com
I haven't actually tried it before. I've wanted to, but the shipping has always killed the deal for me. I've heard that a few of their products rival even department store brands, but most are equal to drugstore brands. However, they're much cheaper than drugstore brands. *shrug* You can read reviews of their stuff (and everyone else's) on makeupalley.com. You have to join, but it's worth it.
