I was driving back from the post office just now and I saw, going down the sidewalk on Blanding, one of Jacksonville's busiest streets, a guy riding on a 10-foot unicycle. Um. I was like, "Oh jeez, if he falls, he will fall out into traffic and DIE." And then I thought, "Well, maybe he deserves that for riding a 10-FOOT UNICYCLE on BLANDING."
Heh.
In other news, I don't know why I was anti-dresses for so many years (from ages 10-24). They are really the epitome of laziness, which is definitely something I can get behind. LOL. Seriously though - no thinking involved. You don't have to make sure stuff matches or looks good together; you just toss a dress on, and you're ready. They're as cool as shorts and a tank top but are considered nicer, but they're actually easier! And the only thing you can't do in a dress is climb trees, and since there are no good climbing trees near my house, that's not a problem. (Hi, my name is Bethany, I'm 25 years old and I still like to climb trees...) So yeah. Comfy, cute dresses = win.
I reallyreally want to have a picnic for lunch. I wonder when Isaac will get home from work.
Heh.

You should get some more dresses! It's dress week at Ross, which means extra good deals there. I saw several cute ones there. Some were on clearance for $5! That was the Ross at the SJ Town Center though. I don't know if there're any good ones at Oak Leaf. Probably. I ♥ Ross.
Awesome! Dude, we have to hang out one of these days. I just went to your website and you have fantastic taste in movies and TV shows. YAY for the old Britcoms! My husband and I especially can't resist Are You Being Served? and 'Allo, 'Allo. Have you seen that one? It's HILARIOUS. Also, Jeeves & Wooster is fantastic, but PBS never plays that one; we've only seen it by renting it from the Jax library. And the few eps of Blackadder that we've seen have been hilarious too. Isaac grew up watching Keeping Up Appearances. I haven't seen as many eps of that as the others, but I do enjoy it. Hyacinth frustrates me but makes me LAUGH. LOL.
Thanks! =oD

Date: 2009-03-09 12:46 am (UTC)I've never heard of "Last of the Summer Wine", actually. And "As Time Goes By" always seemed boring, so I only watched part of a few episodes. Is it funny like the rest?
Of course you can come hang out! Or, even better, why don't I just come hang out with you in France in a few months? (EEEE!!! A few months!!!!)

Date: 2009-03-10 08:11 pm (UTC)You will have to take me to Stein Mart and show me what is so good about that store. Granted, I haven't been to one in YEARS, but that's because I never found a thing I liked there! But I'm open for a new experience. =o) But yes, the SJ Town Center is amazing. It's way better than the Oak Leaf one, because of its sheer size, but Oak Leaf has Kohl's and Ross, so I go there a lot anyway. SJ has fantastic restaurants - definitely. I like the open air concept on beautiful days like that one, but in general I don't like them because what if it's raining, or 90ยบ outside? I feel like a dork when I drive from store to store. Hehe.
Yes! I adore Mr. Humphries. And I am unanimous in loving Mrs. Slocombe. LOL! 'Allo, 'Allo is about a cafe owner and the others in a small French town during WWII. All the girls who work at the cafe are in love with the cafe owner, Rene. Then there are the regular German officers, who just want to live out the war so they hang out with Rene and get into all these interesting capers. And then there's the Gestapo, who are always trying to fight the French resistance and the Communists, both of whom are completely made of women who also are in love with Rene. And there's a police officer who is hilarious and speaks horrible "French". (They all speak in their various accents - French, British, German - and that is like the different languages. So, if someone speaks English and French, they go back and forth from "Cheerio, old chap!" to French accents. It's silly, but actually quite clever.) And there's a Mr. Humphries-esque character, one of the Germans. It's really silly and hilarious.
Is As Time Goes By less funny than the rest? I've only seen a bit of a few episodes because it seemed rather boring.
Oh yes! I've seen that one. All the ones out in the country are hilarious. Poor Onslow. LOL.

And hey, sorry if I freaked you out about being so excited that you're local. Whenever you feel like you want to hang out in person, just let me know. I'll be there!

Date: 2009-03-07 11:27 pm (UTC)Dresses are great, although I am very lazy about shaving my legs, so unless the dresses are long.... ;-) Too much information, I know. HA!

Date: 2009-03-07 11:31 pm (UTC)Dude, I know what you mean. It seems like this winter I only shave when I have a modeling thing coming up, and there have been several weeks between each of them. Hehe. I'm really fuzzy-legged during the winter. In the summer I practically live in shorts, skirts and dresses, so I have to shave somewhat regularly, but thankfully I can usually just do it twice a week and be good to go. Someday I'll get a no!no! (http://www.my-no-no.com/).

Date: 2009-03-07 11:46 pm (UTC)The period thing....I don't know why I was looking forward to it so much. I guess I thought it would make me more grown up. Ughhhh. LOL! I was 12 when I started, I think. I wish I could opt out, since I don't plan on having any kids. :-) I've heard that birth control has a lot of benefits. I might try it sometime, just to see if it helps me, because I have some very bad times with mine.....
(Gee, sorry for getting so personal! LOL! Girl talk!)

Date: 2009-03-08 01:04 am (UTC)I discovered the joy of skirts a couple years ago. I wish I had more dresses but I never find the right kind or the right price so I dont have very many at ALL. :(

Date: 2009-03-09 01:38 am (UTC)Yeah, I started not hating skirts a year or two before beginning to not hate dresses. Now I wear both a lot... but I still get friends and family asking me why I'm so dressed up! Dude! I've been wearing skirts casually for years now! *rolls eyes* Did you get in on any of the awesome Walmart dresses (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1663415&l=5c25c&id=503691410) last summer? I adore my two and am thinking of wearing one tomorrow! I can't wait to see if they have any more good ones for this summer!

Date: 2009-03-08 07:05 pm (UTC)I LOVE dresses! The only problem is that I have trouble finding ones that fit me properly :( My chest is disproportionate to the rest of me, and so I end up getting one that is too big or makes me look extremely top heavy. Then there's something weird with my shoulders and sleeveless dresses bunch up weird there. I think that's because my legs are disproportionately longer than my torso, so the bodice is too long or something. That's me, Weird Proportions Brittany ;P I love skirts, though, and I always wear them during the summer and when I can in the winter with tights. They are so free!

Date: 2009-03-09 01:48 am (UTC)Haha, I have the opposite trouble. My chest is disproportionately small! But it does allow me to wear smaller tops than I otherwise could. It's frustrating, though, when things are too big on top. I love skirts, but especially knee-length skirts with knee-high boots. Although, I'm tall, so knee-high boots are never actually knee-high on me. Hehe. But I'm okay with that now.

Date: 2009-03-09 02:05 am (UTC)I never really got into boots. I think they were too warm for me and constricting, but they sure come in handy if I have to walk through the snow! I do like the way they look, though, especially with skirts :) My boss is really tall as well and she's got this pair of boots that have high heels and she wears them with a skirt and it looks really good and stylish on her (she usually is really conservative). She does get teased, though. "If Debra wasn't tall enough already, she went and wore those giant boots and is even taller!" Her boss (whole boss of marketing) likes to tease people and the people in marketing are very wound up (a few exceptions), so it's all part of the fun ;)
