+ Hehe. LJ's "Undead Journal" header made me giggle.

+ Our heater is on for the first time since March or April. Last night's low was 40-something. I shiver to think how cold it would've been in here if I had forgotten - which I almost did - to turn it on. Tomorrow the high is 60º, and while I distinctly remember putting on shorts anytime the temperature hit 60º when I was a kid/teen in WI/IL, now I will put on a sweater and possibly also a jacket. 60º is a lot warmer in Wisconsin than it is in Florida. I wonder if I can get away with wearing a scarf? Me gusto scarves.

+ I've decided it's a lot more fun to clean with a husband than on my own. Saturday Isaac and I pretty much cleaned the house top to bottom, and it took less than two hours. And this was with stopping to goofy-dance several times to the music we were blasting. Actually, we had to agree to stop dancing and kissing anytime we walked by each other, because we knew we'd never finish the cleaning in time if we didn't. 'Tis a good life.

+ Fellowship group was fun! This is the first time we've hosted. Only two other couples came, since AAAC were out of town and some others were sick, but they are two of our favorite couples (despite political differences, LOL). We made taco salad or burritos, and I don't know why, but that was the best taco salad I have ever had. It was amazing. Isaac gave a cool little devo while I got the chocolate fountain ready. Then we gorged on chocolate-dipped pretzels and fruit while playing Pictaphone, which they seemed to quite enjoy.

+ Yesterday on the way home from lunch, we pulled up next to a car at a traffic light. We had the windows down, so we heard the little old lady driving it keep trying to start it, but it wouldn't turn over. Realizing that she was alone, we knew she'd never be able to get it out of the road by herself, so we turned around and parked at a nearby gas station, and then pushed her car to a nearby parking lot. (Pushing it the opposite way traffic was going in that lane was quite interesting.) We quickly realized we couldn't fix whatever it was, but thankfully she had AAA. Poor thing was stuck waiting at the gas station for over an hour though. Anyway, that was our Sunday afternoon adventure. Hehe.

+ Last night at Olympians all our "older" leaders were gone, so it was just Isaac, Angela, our friend Sarah, and me. The lesson was mostly a skit, but I did the opening and closing bits too. That was the first time I ever did an Olympian lesson! It went well though, I thought. Well, until one little boy who's only been there twice threw up in one of the Sunday School rooms. Oy. Next week is our famous Olympian Fun Fall Festival. I'm excited about that. Oh! Last week my mom put it (O.F.F.F.) up on the board as a reminder, then asked the kids what other words beginning with F we could add to it. We came up with fabulous, fantastic, etc. Well, last night I wrote just O.F.F.F. on there because I couldn't remember how many other Fs we had added last week. One little boy said, "What about the other f-words?" I succeeded at not cracking up, but I looked at Isaac and we smirked at each other.

+ I have been really wanting to go to The Thrift Store lately. Should I go? No. Do I want to go? YES. I haven't been there since Isaac's family was here, way back at the beginning of September. It seems I go there about every 2 or 3 months. I don't want to go alone though. Anyone want to join me? ;o)

Hmm, we're having similar weather today! Except this morning when I left it was in the 30s. It's only going to be in the 60s and sunny for a couple more days though--by Thursday the rain is coming back and highs will be around 50.

What political differences do you have with the other couples? Are they liberal or the uber conservative types who vote third party?

Well, until one little boy who's only been there twice threw up in one of the Sunday School rooms.

Today is like 71º, the next two days will be low-60s, and then back to low-70s. Although either tonight or tomorrow night we may set a record low - 36º, I think.

They're not liberal, but they do usually vote Democrat. Three of them grew up in liberal places, and I think that's influenced them a lot. I don't actually know where one girl stands politically, but I'm guessing she supports her husband. He is still deciding who he's going to vote for (or at least that's what he tells us to pacify us, hehe), because he thinks that since in many ways the church has failed to take care of the needy, the responsibility should go to the gov't. So he's trying to do the right thing, not realizing that that's not the gov't's job. But he grew up in the northeast, so he probably got used to high taxes and gov't intervention in everything. The other couple grew up in the pacific northwest, and you know how bad it can be up there. =oÞ When discussing with them, you get the feeling that they're just repeating party lines back to you. When you bring up a valid point, they kind of blink and you can tell they haven't thought of it that way before. But usually we get interrupted before they can really ponder it. =o/ None of them are really on the Obama train (though I think they're probably all going to vote for him), they're just not Republicans. And they're so smart otherwise... ;o)

LOL! Well, really, this is our third year of Olympians here, and I was an Oly leader for 4 or 5 years in IL, and this is the only time a kid has ever thrown up at club. I suppose I can deal with once every 8 years. Dude, I throw up more than that! Hehehe - which you would know. LOL.

When do you put yours on? Dude, anytime ice crystals form on my windshield is heater-worthy, IMO. Our house also has pathetic drafts, so whatever temp it is outside, ours doesn't take long to catch up. Can you imagine your house temperature being in the 50s? Oh, I would want to die!

I did. I may have to go there tomorrow!

Hehe, yeah. I guess she could've freaked out that two strangers were going to help her, but Isaac and I aren't very intimidating. =o)

When it starts getting close to the 30s, we turn it on. I think being in an apartment keeps us warmer, too--we get our neighbors' heat since heat rises.

Oh, that would make sense. Yeah, for us, we have crazy drafty windows, and concrete block walls. (The walls are insulated, of course, but I don't know, it seems like wood walls don't get that cold.) I wonder when we used to turn on the heater when we lived in WI. All I know was that my dad never turned it up hot enough! I get cold easily, but there were times in IL that I slept in my winter coat in a sleeping bag!

What is it about some men? Dale never used the heat (unless his mom came to visit us) and insisted that the small heat stove in the living room provided enough heat. Never mind that we could see our breath in the back bedrooms and even Jon, who's used to cold weather, thought he was going to die the Christmas he came to visit me while we were in school.

I have classes until 12 Mon, Wed, Fri, but on Tuesdays and Thursdays I get out at ten. And I could go until three, when I have to babysit, there's just no way I can see to get to Jax. :( I need a car, I need my license, I need a job. :P
But it's been forever since I've seen you, and Jenna. :( I'd really like to do something over Thanksgiving break....

I wish you could! I've taken quite a few LJers there, and everyone has gotten something - usually several somethings. It's so much more fun with friends than alone. =o)
