A post o' links.

+ These guys are absolutely my new heroes. If I had the time and the gas money, I would so do that.

+ I finally got around to altering and re-uploading my Gilmore Girls and Firefly shirts. They are not nearly as cool as the previous versions, but since the phrase "gilmore girls" and the word "firefly" are not actually mentioned on them anymore, they should be kosher. I'm not holding my breath, though, so if you want one, you'd better buy sooner rather than later. Gilmore shirt is here, and Firefly shirt is here. ([livejournal.com profile] katharhino, I only used Papyrus on the Firefly one because it's used on the Serenity movie stuff. Don't hurt me! LOL.)

+ Some friends from church called and asked if we had plans for tonight. We didn't, so they invited us to attend Simply Ballroom with them, since they had extra tickets. I had never heard of it, but I love dancing, so we said yes. I looked it up online, and it sounds really cool. It even has two former American Idol finalists in it. Of course, I don't really remember either of them since I didn't watch their seasons, but it gives the show extra coolness in my mind.

+ Today I got an email from Linens 'n' Things confirming my refund for the return of my slow cooker. Thing is, my slow cooker is sitting in my kitchen right now. I bought it. I cooked roast beef in it. I did not return it. Yet somehow they think I did, and credited my card. Um... what? I'm going to call them and see what they're smoking, but I'm hoping they'll reward my honesty by leaving the charge refunded.

+ The other day I was in the car and I heard this fantastic Coldplay/Howie Day-esque song on one of the Christian radio stations. I memorized as many of the lyrics as I could, and Googled 'em as soon as I got in the house. It was "New Day" by Robbie Seay Band. I had heard of them before, since Air1 plays their song, "Song of Hope", but while I like that one, I never thought it was anything special. "New Day", though, is Christian music's answer to those alt-rock, piano-driven, semi-melancholic (wow, that was a lot of hyphenated words) secular bands. I listened to the rest of the songs on their MySpace and promptly bought their latest CD on BMG for $3. (I have free CD codes, so I just paid shipping. =oD ) They're a new musical interest for me, so I thought I'd share.

+ Apparently when I'm actually caught up on my friends page, I post a lot more. Weird trade-off.

Do you have a link to just the text on your Gilmore Girls shirt? I've never actually read it before, and I can't see it well enough on cafepress to read it (too small). (I don't want to use it for anything, just want to know what it says.) Thanks. :)

Simply Ballroom looks fun. Have a great time! :)

You can click on the link, then click on a shirt. When you're looking at it and its info, you can click "View Larger". That'll pop up another box, which has "Zoom In On Image" at the bottom. You should be able to read it there. If not, let me know and I'll try to copy and paste it.

It was! =o)

It was pretty cool. I must learn to dance one day.

You know, I just may take you up on that one of these days. We'll see.

I've loved the Robbie Seay Band for awhile, and have that CD. They're great.

Btw, I have a new card game to teach you, if we can gather a few more players while you're here! It's called Mao, and the main rule of the game is that it's against the rules to explain the rules to new players, lol. Andrew and I went over to one of his buddies' house tonight and us wives played it while the guys played video games. I thought it sounded stupid at first but then I played, and it was so much fun!

[identity profile] kimana83.livejournal.com 2008-04-07 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, some of their stuff is awesome. Perfect for rainy days.

I've heard of Mao, actually, and I know a bit about it, but haven't played it. Sounds like it could be fun though. =o)

P.S. Less than 2 weeks!

Oh I hope the show was fabulous!

That TEA group looks fantastic. That's something my sister would do...

[identity profile] kimana83.livejournal.com 2008-04-07 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
It was pretty good! It started off really cheesy, and stayed a little cheesy, but it was quite impressive, too. I need to learn to dance!

It is! They're very entertaining, too.

Linens and Things did the same thing to me one time! I bought these slipcovers, and they refunded me the money out of the blue. I contacted them to try to straighten out their mistake, but they never responded. *shrug*

[identity profile] kimana83.livejournal.com 2008-04-08 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That's so weird. They must have a glitch in their system, but I don't see why they would've never responded to you!

[identity profile] dramaticsuzy.livejournal.com 2008-04-06 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I should start buying from Linens & Things...

[identity profile] kimana83.livejournal.com 2008-04-08 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! No kidding! This is the first time I ever have, and if they're going to refund my money every time, they're my new favorite store! ;o)

AHAHA! I love the TEAL site. Love them, want to be them when I grow up.

Let's see... does your consistency with typography offset the sin of using Papyrus? Well, ok. I admit, consistency is better.

[identity profile] kimana83.livejournal.com 2008-04-08 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Ditto! They're hilarious. Although, interestingly, they seem to get less funny as they're on the job longer. I've read all the blogs now, and they were definitely funnier in the beginning. I think the guys are probably road-weary now. =o)

Well, I used Futura Book for the body text, so the whole shirt isn't in Papyrus, just the header is. I couldn't take a whole shirt in Papyrus -- that would be so hard to read! But Papyrus is used for the Serenity name in the movie and all the promo materials for it.

[identity profile] bluiidmommy.livejournal.com 2008-04-06 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Those guys are made of awesome.

*crosses fingers you get to keep your refund*

If I'm behind on my f-page, I tend to not post either. It's like I feel bad for not being caught up on everyone else's lives, so feel to guilty to post. I'm weird, I know.

[identity profile] kimana83.livejournal.com 2008-04-08 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely!

I think that's how I am too. But it really is an illogical way to look at it, ya know?

[identity profile] sasscfrass.livejournal.com 2008-05-23 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
ooooh! thanks for the plug! I love checking out new groups.
